ARK is excited to introduce Student Servant Leadership (SSL)! SSL is an opportunity for all ARK students to take ownership of their youth group.

SSL is the student leadership development program for ARK Youth Ministry. This program is for any and all students who are committed to more than just weekly attendance. It is an opportunity for students to learn more about Jesus by serving. We are never more like Christ than when we serve.

Nerf Night 2011

Nerf night is back!

This Friday, get your blasters ready. And bring plenty of darts! Because it’s Nerf…or nothing!

Anyway, we’re excited to bring back Nerf Night after popular demand. Bring out your friends, bring your family, bring your friend’s family. It’s going to be a blast, no pun intended.

Register for Magic Mountain 2011

Got your safety harness strapped on? Good, because we’re going to Magic Mountain! Circle the date on your calendar. We are heading out on August 9. For some of you more observant ones, you might have noticed that is on a TUESDAY. Yep, Magic Mountain, on 8/9, Tuesday.

As the date approaches, more details will be released (such as departure/arrival times, cost, etc) but for now, if you plan on going, you MUST register below. Deadline to register is midnight, 8/5 (Friday).

Benefits of registering:

Discounted group rate (targeting ~$25-26 per person)
Secure a spot for rides
All-around great time

Pitfalls of not registering:

You have to buy your own ticket
You have to find your own ride (to the park, and back home)
And/or spend Tues at home by yourself

ARK is Near!

Get ready! ARK is starting up again in just a few more weeks! Run to your calendar and circle this date: August 5! Use a bright red marker so that you don’t miss it.

We’re excited to be starting a brand new school year. It’s going to be AWESOME! We’re starting off with some fun in the sun.

Oh my! Annual Magic Mountain trip is back! Please note that this is scheduled for a weekday. There will be a registration form that you will receive in your email/inbox so if you can make, be sure to sign up!
8/12, Friday – Froyo Social
Piggy-backing off of last year’s great time of fellowship, we’ll be heading out to Berry Frooti after announcements/icebreakers. Be sure to bring $5!
8/19, Friday – Nerf War 3: This Time, It’s Personal!
Back by popular demand, it’s Nerf War! Get your Nerf on!

Summer Break 2011

We’re on summer break for our Friday meetings everyone! Thanks for an incredible year. Congrats to the seniors who graduated. And welcome to the new incoming 6th graders!

While our Friday meetings are on break, Sunday middle school Bible studies are still continuing on. Beginning this coming Sunday (6/29), we will have middle school Bible study for both 9am and 11am services.

Raffle Winners

First, thanks to everyone who helped raise money for the fundraiser. We ended up raising $513 in total raffle sales. This was enough to bring the fee from $50 to $40 for everyone who pre-registered. And a BIG THANK YOU to those who donated prizes and who purchased raffle drawings.

Japan Relief Bake Sale Fundraiser

On Sunday 3/27, the church will hold a bake sale to help raise funds for Japan relief. We need volunteers to help bake treats, cupcakes, cookies and more! Please show up to church at 9am this Saturday.

Also, please look out for a notification from your small group leaders about what baking supplies to bring for this Friday’s ARK meeting.

The Upper Room Prayer and Worship Gatherings

This Wednesday is the next Upper Room gathering at church.

Upper Room is a prayer and worship gathering at The Garden that meets every 4th Wednesday of the month. It’s a gathering without any agendas except for intercession and praise.

Come out this week at 7:30pm. We will meet in the main sanctuary. Get more details at: thegarden.cc/upperroom .

Don’t forget that we are also fasting during these days. For this month’s fast, we are also having a “One Meal for Japan” campaign where we are asking everyone to donate the money they would have saved fasting from food and donate it to Japan Relief. Just bring the money to the donation table on Sunday.

Beach Cleanup

UPDATE (3/18):
Sorry all, this has been cancelled due to rain.

Last time we tried to go to the beach for cleanup, we had to cancel due to the rains. This time we…are…GO…for 3/19.

We will head out to Dockweiler Beach to help with the cleaning efforts. I know we all cherish our Saturdays but I would like ALL of use to make it next week.

We will meet up at church at 9am to leave promptly to the beach. Afterwards, the weather WILL be nice so we’ll spend some time together and have some fun! Maybe we’ll have a daytime bonfire! Marshmallows anyone?

The polls were closed on Friday at midnight and the results are in! We have a pretty clear winner folks! Without further ado, the winning design is…Design 10, submitted by Nathan Cho! Congrats Nathan! We’ll get the orders in soon and hopefully have them ready for the retreat. Most likely, they’ll be $10. Thanks everyone who voted!
